- FOCUS AREAS
My name is Ingrid Flink and I’m a Junior Consultant in Communications and Rural Development, working primarily for PROLINNOVA, which is hosted by ETC Foundation. For my current portfolio at ETC foundation, I am co-managing a West African workshop on approaches to farmer-led research and a West African Farmer Innovation Fair planned in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso in May 2015. The workshop and fair aims to put farmers’ creativity in the spotlight and intensifies linkages and learning among all actors involved in agricultural research and development work related to smallholder family farming. In cooperation with the Agricultural Journalists and Communicators Association of Burkina Faso (ABJCA), I have worked on the public relations for the fair and workshop; including the launch of the website, coordinating a series of blogs, report writing and designing promotional material.
For the same project, I am coordinating a consultancy assignment from the Technical Centre for Agricultural and Rural Cooperation (CTA) to coordinate three videos on farmer-led innovations to adapt to climate change, produced by national video teams in West Africa (Senegal, Burkina Faso, Mali). I have been involved in the video production of an interview with the CTA director and have supported the local video teams in editing their scripts as well as advising them on improving their videos, content-wise. Moreover I will be co-facilitating and organizing a side event together with ABJCA which will screen and trigger a discussion on these videos during the West African Farmer Innovation fair.
My background in a nutshell: I’ve gained practical experience at several nonprofit organizations including Ekorural (Ecuador), NCDO (working for the editorial team OneWorld and the project: FoodGuerrilla) and Fairtrade Gemeente campaign, combining communications with sustainable food systems. I’m excited to be part of the PROLINNOVA team and I’m looking forward to contribute to their amazing work so far!
