Technical Training Programme
Technical Training aims to strengthen the capacity and quality of work of technical schools and training institutes in the South, so that their students obtain better opportunities for employment and income generation.
The Technical Training Programme (TTP) focuses on human resource development and capacity building of those organisations in developing countries that are active in the formal and informal technical educational sector (lower and middle levels).
The Programme offers technical assistance and training in skills and knowledge, and also teaching methods to transfer these skills and knowledge. Education and training are key elements in human resource development and capacity building in developing countries. Technical education and training contribute to alleviating poverty of both men and women; technical skills and know-how increase the access to, and control over, the means of production.
ETC and Technical Training
The ETC Technical Training Program (TTP) portfolio consisted of thirty projects by the end of 2008. These were distributed over seven countries in Africa, seven in Asia, one in Middle East and one in Eastern Europe.
These included support (managerial, curriculum development) to 15 secondary technical schools and technical training in the informal sector e.g. NGOs working on biogas technology.
